If you are wondering why you do not have power, but your neighbor does, here are some of the reasons:

  • You may be on a different electric circuit than your neighbor. This is not uncommon with neighbors across the street or on the other side of the alley.
  • Your electric circuit may be damaged, and the utility has isolated this section and restored power to the undamaged section.
  • You may be on a different transformer than your neighbor.
  • The service line to your house may be damaged.
  • The meter base on your house may be damaged.
  • You may have an internal electrical issue.
  • You and your neighbor may have different electric service providers (GP&L/Oncor).

Always report your power outage to GP&L. Call 972-205-3000 or 833-403-2106. Or text OUT to 972-205-4000.
